This excursion will allow you to discover the history and the importance of tea in Mauritian life. Visit of the impressive and splendid colonial mansion of Les Aubineaux, the home of a tea-estate owner.

After a drive along tea-plantations watch the tea making process at the factory of Bois Cheri and sample the different flavours of tea at the Chalet.

Lunch at St Aubin, in an elegant and colonial environment will be a pleasurable moment. Have a glimpse at the anthurium greenhouse, the Vanilla House and the Rum-House.

The last attractions of the tour are the breathtaking sights of Gris-Gris and La Roche qui Pleure. Literally: The Mourning Rock.

Leave respective hotels as per scheduled timings:

10H00             Arrive at Domaine des Aubineaux.

                       Visit of the colonial house built in 1867 followed by a walk in the garden.

                       Tea and scones will be served afterwards in the dining room.

10H45             Leave Les Aubineaux and drive to Bois Cheri.

11H20             Arrive at Bois Cheri

                       Guided visit of the tea factory followed by a visit of the museum.

11H50             Drive up to the Chalet for tea tasting (served with biscuits).

13H15             Leave Bois Cheri for St Aubin.

13H30             Lunch is served.

                       Visit of the anthurium greenhouse and vanilla house after lunch.

15H00             Leave St Aubin.

15H15             Stop at Gris Gris at “La Roche qui pleure” for 15 minutes.

15H45             Leave Gris Gris and drive to respective hotels.
